Jim Hardesty is the proud owner of a brand-spanking new Race-Keeper system, care of the 2011 Race- Keeper Free System contest!
Jim, who just finished his 4th full year of racing, drives an '86 Honda Civic in ITC. Jim gives props to Bill Stevens, one of Race-Keeper's super-reps, for getting him into a race car. Bill was Jim's track day instructor in his WRX at Mid-Ohio about five years ago and Bill "challenged me to go wheel to wheel racing!"
Jim won the 2011 Great Lakes Division championship at the final event, a quad regional at Nelson Ledges organized by the Northeast Ohio region. Jim won three of the four races and second in the other to win the divisional championship by two points.
According to Jim, "What I'd love to do with a Race-Keeper is to produce high quality video with as much data embedded as possible. I currently run two cameras and then join them together. It works, but it takes a lot of effort and I don't have a way to capture even simple data like speed and RPM, let alone oil pressure or water temp. I've been watching a lot of race videos on youtube lately while working out and I'd love to have some of the data I see on other people's video."
"I'd also like to be able to share the system with the other ITC guys I race with. Let Carl put it in his Renault for a day and have Jason put it in his Jetta or even have Kristian put it in his New Beetle. We generally don't hide a lot of info from the guys we race against, we share video and whatever info we happen to have. Until someone starts to walk away from the field we're all happy making everyone faster."
Congratulations to Jim on his new Race-Keeper system!
