A very quick way to get more data from your vehicle without having to install discrete sensors is to plug into the OBD (on-board diagnostics) port on your vehicle.
The data channels that are available on this port vary between manufacturers but all OBD-II ports support channels such as speed, rpm, throttle position, coolant temperature, intake manifold pressure etc.
Speed data from the OBD-II port is more accurate than GPS speed so whenever OBD-II speed is available, Race-Keeper Comparo uses OBD-II speed data for MPH.
To use OBD-II data, add the Race-Keeper OBD-II module (available from our catalog). The power cable that we provide with the Race-Keeper system already has a USB connector for power that plugs into the OBD-II module, and the module plugs into the OBD-II port.
The extra data captured from the OBDII port will be automatically available in Race-Keeper Comparo software.
