Race-Keeper Releases Harsh Environment Video Data System, Waterproof Version of Popular Race-Keeper Video Data System

STERLING, VA (December 3, 2009) – Race-Keeper announces immediate availability of Race-Keeper HE, a waterproof and dustproof single-box video data system designed specifically for vehicles that compete in racing’s most harsh environments: open-cockpit, open-wheel, rally, drag and hill climb cars.

More About Race-Keeper: What It's Not

Race-Keeper Video Data Logger vs. Data Acquisition

We like data acquisition, it’s OK. In fact, our development team is managed by former Pi Research engineers.

We just happen to love video AND data.

Race-Keeper is not a data acquisition product with video and audio strapped on or overlaid as an afterthought. We created Race-Keeper from scratch using cutting-edge technologies designed specifically to synchronize audio, video, and data.

Which Camera Lenses and Angles Work Best for You?

Submitted by trivinci on Wed, 11/26/2008 - 19:50.

We get lots of questions about which camera angles work best on the race track so we decided to provide some information that will help.

Q: How does lens size affect distance and field of view?
A: A smaller lens value will show a shorter viewing distance and a wide field of view. A larger lens value will allow for a longer viewing distance but a narrower field of view.

For example, a 2.5mm focal length lens produces a wider angle (155deg approx) than a 6.0 mm focal length lens (120deg approx)

Connecting Power from to Race-Keeper from Your Vehicle

Submitted by trivinci on Wed, 11/26/2008 - 19:41.

The ideal power source for Race-Keeper is a constant 12v.

We provide two power looms with each system - cig lighter adapter and 12V direct connect to battery. We prefer direct connect but cig lighter adapter works well for quick installs.

Simple Installation in 30 Minutes (or Less)

Submitted by trivinci on Wed, 11/26/2008 - 19:21.

We recommend scheduling about 30 minutes to install a two-camera Race-Keeper system.

Caveats...

Less time - Install time is related to routing and hiding cables (e.g., cameras, microphones, GPS). If you don’t need to hide the cables, you can install the system in about 15 minutes.

More time - If you are installing analog sensors (e.g., brake, throttle, steering), allow a bit of extra time.

Quick install primer...

  • Install your Race-Keeper system box

Time to Say Good-bye

We join you in saying farewell to...

  • Good-bye unsynchronized video and data
  • Good-bye separate boxes for video and data
  • Good-bye separate expensive complicated data loggers
  • Good-bye DVRs and camcorders with poor video quality
  • Good-bye additional boxes for additional cameras
  • Good-bye painful installation
  • Good-bye complicated sensors

Power of Partnerships: Our Work With Racing and Driving Experiences

Submitted by trivinci on Wed, 11/26/2008 - 02:28.

Through December 31 2008, our Race-Keeper systems have captured over 500,000 race outings from partners and their guests over two and a half years.

Our partners include the world’s most demanding racing and driving schools.

We’ve learned how to build systems that work in extreme environments.

After working with so many racers, we think we know what racers want in a video data system.

Race-Keeper: A Brief Introduction

Submitted by trivinci on Mon, 11/24/2008 - 20:09.

Race-Keeper is a single box multi-camera plug n’ play video data logging system designed to help improve your racing…it’s all about faster laps.

With synchronized video, audio and data, Race-Keeper gives you the power to analyze your performance, with visual evidence of how and why you’re excelling and where you can improve.

What’s in a standard Race-Keeper system?

Everything you need for video and data, right out of the package.

What Makes Race-Keeper Unique?

Submitted by trivinci on Sun, 11/23/2008 - 01:25.

We recognize there are other systems that provide video, and many systems that provide data.

We just happen to believe that Race-Keeper is singularly qualified to deliver synchronized video data to help you improve your lap times.
